Cycle of Becoming is a sculptural expression of life in motion — a continuous interplay between growth, instinct, and survival.

At its crown, a blooming floral form radiates outward like a canopy, symbolising origin — the point from which all life emerges. Beneath it, antelope stand poised in quiet vigilance, embodying grace and awareness within the natural order.

Encircling the body of the vessel, creatures move in a rhythmic ascent — predators and prey locked in a perpetual dance. There is no single moment captured here, but rather a cycle: pursuit, escape, growth, and return.

The composition rejects hierarchy in favour of interdependence. Each element is inseparable from the next, forming a unified ecosystem carved into a single structure.

Rendered in its raw state, the piece reveals the purity of form and the discipline of craftsmanship. Every contour, every transition, speaks to a deep understanding of movement translated into stillness.

This is not a story of power. It is a story of life — unfolding, repeating, enduring.

Craftsmanship & process

Modelled in the round to sustain a continuous narrative band, crown and body registers were unified before bisque. The raw finish preserves tonal clarity across botanical and animal relief — surface left honest to contour and rhythm.
